COVID 19
During the first Covid 19 lockdown in 2020, Museum Volunteer and DHS Chair, Peter Wild, took photographs around the town. Dornoch Fire Station was used as a Covid testing centre with the army initially taking charge. The streets were eerily quiet and in November, instead of a procession to the war memorial for Poppy Day, a loan piper played.
Historylinks Museum did not open until July 2020 and was one of the first museums in the Highlands to do so. Many restrictions were in place including a traffic light system to restric the number of people in the building at any one time.
