1. Historylinks is the trading name of the Dornoch Heritage Society Trust. It is a charitable trust.

2. The aims are:

2.1 The purpose of Historylinks Museum is to preserve the character, history and traditions of the Dornoch Community Council Area and to present the material in exciting and enlightening displays for the education and enjoyment of as broad an audience as possible.

2.2 It is intended that the history of the area should be interpreted in a manner that will foster a sense of civic pride and dignity in the local community. In order to further this aim the Trustees shall encourage local community involvement in the understanding, acquisition, presentation and interpretation of local history so that local people may become active, enthusiastic and constructive supporters of Historylinks and its aspirations.

2.3 The Trustees shall take care to make special provision for the involvement of children in the work of Historylinks, as individuals as well as members of school classes, in order that they may grow up with a keen interest in the museum.
